Marcelo Lima, President and CEO
Mr. Lima has more than 25 years of experience in the medical industry, holding positions in engineering, marketing, business development, and general executive management. Previously, he was President of Visage Imaging, a subsidiary of Mercury Computer Systems. He was chief executive officer of Opsion Medical, and, prior to that, vice president and general manager for Kodak's Health Imaging unit in charge of the worldwide laser business. Mr. Lima has also held management positions at Hewlett Packard Medical Products Group and Siemens Medical. He started his career at Johnson & Johnson as a medical device software engineer.
Mr. Lima holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago, a Master of Science degree in biomedical engineering from Boston University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Gama Filho University (UGF) in Brazil.
Paul Meadows, CTO and VP Engineering
Mr. Meadows has more than 30 years of experience in the medical industry, including lead system development positions in spinal cord stimulation, deep brain stimulation, and insulin pump and glucose sensing markets, as well as research positions at private and public institutes and foundations developing and researching neurostimulation methods. Mr. Meadows has most recently worked for Boston Scientific Neuromodulation and Advanced Bionics Corporations where he was instrumental in their neurostimulation programs, and is Past-President and co-founder of the International Functional Electrical Stimulation Society. Mr. Meadows has a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California and Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from the University of California at Los Angeles.
Russ Craig, VP Business Development
Mr. Craig has over thirty years of strategic consulting, line management, and entrepreneurial success. He has functioned as a line manager in various high technology companies. He ran a division of Teradyne, was Vice President of Strategy and Marketing at Genrad where he oversaw the acquisition and integration of three technology companies, ran the consulting services activity at DEC for a period, and was COO and co-founder of a software startup, which was sold in 2000.
He started his consulting career at McKinsey and Co, where he dealt with high technology and industry clients. His role as Vice President and Director of the High Tech Practice at Arthur D. Little and Partner in Strategic Services at Accenture provided him with additional strategic consulting and corporate development experience, as many of his clients were medical device and diagnostic firms.
Terence M. Davidson, M.D., F.A.C.S , Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Davidson is a Professor of Surgery in the Division of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and Associate Dean for Continuing Medical Education at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine and Section Chief of Head and Neck Surgery at the VA San Diego Healthcare System.
Jasper Benke, Vice President, RA/QA/CA
Mr. Benke has over fifteen years experience in the medical device industry implementing US and OUS regulatory strategy, FDA and ISO quality systems, and clinical program management for start-up companies in the cardiovascular, orthopedic, wound care, and plastic surgery markets. He has held technical and senior management positions at BlueSky Medical (Smith and Nephew), Skeletal Kinetics (Colson Associates), Alure Medical, and Bioheart.
Mr. Benke began his career as a development engineer Arterial Vascular Engineering (Medtronic) and OCLI (JDS Uniphase). Mr. Benke holds a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial Technology from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
